It is with great pride that I welcome you to the VMA Alumni Association. The Board of the VMA joins me in congratulating all of our graduates, from our most recent through to our inaugural 2003 cohort. We are immensely proud of the contributions that you are making to General Practice. The Alumni Association exists to promote and facilitate lifelong links between the VMA and its alumni community. The VMA wants to maintain a relationship with you throughout your professional life. We also believe that you want to keep in touch with each other and maintain that collegiality which is so much a feature of general practice life. This website will keep you informed about the VMA and help you stay connected with other graduates, supervisors, medical educators and the wider VMA community. It is our hope that you will also use the resources of the VMA to continue your professional development over the years. Whilst we will endeavour to offer a range of interest based programs and activities, in the short term the VMA will have a major focus on supporting access to training for general practitioners wishing to become supervisors and medical educators. We realise that the supervisors and medical educators of the future must come from our current ranks and must do so in increasing numbers if the next generation of GP registrars is to be properly trained.
