It is with great pride that I welcome you to the VMA Alumni Association. The Board of the VMA joins me in congratulating all of our graduates, from our most recent through to our inaugural 2003 cohort. We are immensely proud of the contributions that you are making to General Practice.

The Alumni Association exists to promote and facilitate lifelong links between the VMA and its alumni community. This website will keep you informed about the VMA and help you stay connected with other graduates, supervisors, medical educators and the wider VMA community.

I encourage you to visit our website often, contribute to it regularly and take advantage of the many benefits that it provides.

From the Patron - Professor Doris Young
ImageWelcome to the VMA Alumni Association. It is an honour to be the Alumni Patron and to have the opportunity to stay involved with VMA graduates and the wider VMA community.

It is an exciting time to be involved in the health sector with the many changes planned and indeed currently underway creating significant opportunity for the up-skilling of the medical workforce.  Certainly the VMA community, through initiatives such as the Alumni, is well positioned to support and progress such undertakings.

The VMA Alumni provides members with opportunities for personal development, social engagement and to contribute to the improvement of future medical education delivery.  Through your participation you will be making an important contribution to our profession and I am pleased at the prospect of sharing that involvement with you.

One cannot underestimate the importance of collegiality which remains so much a feature of general practice life. The Alumni, with a core focus on bringing past registrars and the wider VMA community together, will provide you with many opportunities to network, socialise and to stay in touch with other graduates, supervisors and medical educators.

I encourage all VMA graduates, staff members and friends of VMA to join with me in remaining part of the VMA community. Whether it is through activities, chapter involvement, or just letting us know your views, make sure you are part of it.

I look forward to meeting and working with you.
